Biography
From 1945-51 Clem studied at East Sydney Technical College and Julian Ashton Art School. With the assistance of a Foreign Students’ Bursary granted by the Romania Government, he then studied at the Nicolae Grigorescu Institute of Plastic Arts, Bucharest, Romania until 1955. From 1961-85 Clem worked as a teacher for the New South Wales Department of Technical and Further Education, being appointed Senior Head Teacher at Hornsby College of TAFE during 1977-1985 after which he pursued development of his own work on a full-time basis.

Clem has exhbited in many group and solo shows including the Archibald, Sulman and Wynne Prizes (he was awarded the Wynne Prize in 1973). His work is held in many public and private collections both in
Australia and overseas.
